Google’s Seamless Integration of Prime Video for In-Car Entertainment, Seamless Video Conferencing via Zoom and Webex

Google has announced the addition of new apps that support both Android Auto (which displays your mobile screen on your car’s display) and cars with Google built-in, known as Android Automotive (which runs Android directly from your car’s computer).

With Android Auto, you can now join online meetings via Cisco Webex and Zoom directly from your car, as previously announced at Google I/O. For safety reasons, these meetings are audio-only, allowing you to join conference calls from your car’s screen without having to dangerously handle your phone.

In the original announcement, Google mentioned Teams, but it was not mentioned in the latest announcement. As for its own Meet, it seems to be absent from this universe.

Cars with Google built-in can enjoy newly added apps, including streaming Amazon Prime Video, which is accessible only when the car is parked, and is available on Renault, Polestar, and select Volvo Cars models. The Vivaldi web browser is also available for browsing the web while parked. The Weather Channel app now features a radar mode, allowing you to check the weather conditions in your vicinity.

TLDR: Google has introduced new apps that support Android Auto and cars with Google built-in. Android Auto now allows you to join online meetings via Cisco Webex and Zoom directly from your car’s screen, without the need for phone handling. Cars with Google built-in can enjoy new apps such as Amazon Prime Video, Vivaldi web browser, and The Weather Channel with radar mode.
