According to Reuters, Elon Musk has dismissed two high-level executives at Tesla and is preparing to lay off hundreds of employees dependent on the two executives.
The two high-level executives in question are Rebecca Tinucci, who oversaw the Supercharger business, and Daniel Ho, the head of the new vehicles team. Ho has been with Tesla since 2013 and previously managed projects for Model S, 3, and Y before transitioning to the new projects.
The employees set to be laid off include around 500 in the Supercharger team, while the exact number in Ho’s team is still unknown. The public policy team will also be downsized.
In an leaked email from Elon, it was mentioned that the company must be “hardcore” about reducing the number of employees and cutting costs, as some executives have not handled this aspect well.
