Huawei to Phase Out Windows for Computers in Favor of HarmonyOS Next

In a recent interview, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG, announced the discontinuation of Windows on computers in favor of their self-developed HarmonyOS Next, which does not rely on Linux and does not support Android apps. Huawei claims that HarmonyOS Next is more efficient and secure, although it currently lacks significant software developer support, especially from gaming companies.

Analysts believe that this change may not greatly impact Microsoft as Huawei only holds a 10% market share in China, while Lenovo dominates with 38% and HP holds 10%.
