IBM reported its Q1 2025 performance with a total revenue of $14.541 billion, a 1% increase from the same period in the previous year. The net profit was $1.055 billion.
Revenue from the software business group increased by 7%, while the consulting business decreased by 2% and the Infrastructure business dropped by 6%. CEO Arvind Krishna stated that the revenue and profit figures exceeded the company’s estimates due to strong customer demand in AI.
Krishna further emphasized the impact of DOGE on the US government’s budget, revealing that 15 contracts were delayed or canceled. However, this had minimal impact on revenue as government consulting revenue accounts for less than 10% of the total income.
