According to reports released yesterday, Apple has signed an agreement with the Indonesian government to invest more in the country, allowing the company to sell the iPhone 16 in the country after being banned for several months.
Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, the Indonesian Minister of Industry, announced that they are in the process of issuing a license for Apple to sell the new smartphones in the country. Indonesia had previously banned the iPhone 16, but with the goal of increasing investment in the country, both parties have reached an agreement.
Apple expressed their excitement to expand their investments in Indonesia and introduce innovative products, including the iPhone 16 series and the latest iPhone 16e, to customers in Indonesia.
The agreement with Apple includes investments in various aspects in the country, including the establishment of an AirTag factory on Batam Island, with Luxshare, Apple’s partner, expected to be responsible for manufacturing these products.
