Researcher Tibor Blaho reported findings from the ChatGPT app on Android, suggesting that OpenAI may be considering adding watermarks to images created by ChatGPT for free users. Previously, OpenAI released a tool for creating new images called Image Generation on the GPT-4o model, catering to user preferences such as a style reminiscent of Japanese animation or Studio Ghibli. This led to a surge in ChatGPT user registrations, prompting the expansion to include free users. Currently, the images generated by Image Generation do not feature watermarks, raising questions about OpenAI’s future plans in this regard. Additionally, OpenAI has revealed that they are developing an API for Image Generation.
