After much speculation, Samsung is set to unveil a new foldable phone rumored to be thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 – some sources dub it the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.
Renowned mobile leaker Ice Universe recently shared a video invitation from Samsung for an event on October 21, 2024, enclosed in an envelope. Upon opening, keen observers noticed it was not paper but rather the new Galaxy Z Fold model. However, this clip has yet to be officially posted by Samsung.
Despite being a pioneer in the foldable phone market, Samsung faces emerging competition, especially from Chinese brands producing thinner foldable devices like the Honor Magic V3 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. This likely prompted Samsung to release a foldable phone on the same sleek level.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is expected to have a limited release in select countries with a higher price tag of around $2,200, compared to the starting price of $1,900 for the Z Fold 6. Spec-wise, it is anticipated to be similar to the Z Fold 6.
