Microsoft has launched a new version of the Sticky Notes app that allows for capturing screenshots. The new version of Sticky Notes is a single window app that displays all notes, with the ability to pop out specific notes outside the main window. The main window can be docked paired with other windows.
A key new feature is the ability to capture screenshots quickly with a single button press, capturing the screen of the currently open app (not the entire desktop screen). If the captured screen is a website, the URL will be saved with the image automatically. Clicking on the image in the note will take you to the website instantly.
Microsoft explains that the new version of Sticky Notes focuses on fast and efficient note-taking, whether it be jotting down notes during online meetings, watching online clips, or managing notes intelligently. If we revisit the same topic or website during a meeting, the relevant notes will automatically be pulled up to the top.
Currently, the new version of Sticky Notes can only be accessed within the OneNote app on Windows (must be version 2402 Build 17328.20000 or higher). In the future, an upgrade for the Sticky Notes app on Windows will be available, while mobile devices will only have the ability to view notes through the OneNote app.
