Instagram has announced the release of the Edits app, which is a video editing app similar to CapCut that was launched back in January. The app is now available for download on both iOS and Android platforms.
Originally, Edits was scheduled to release on iOS in February, possibly due to Meta’s desire to capture users from the CapCut app, a video editing app similar to TikTok, which was initially banned in the United States but later had the ban lifted. Edits itself was also pushed back and launched in April.
Edits offers a variety of video editing features that are currently all free, without any subscription system like CapCut for additional features.
The Edits app allows users to record clips up to 10 minutes long and edit videos instantly for sharing on various platforms, including Instagram.
Other features include AI animations, background scene overlays, text, sound effects, audio filters, stickers, noise reduction, and automatic caption creation.

TLDR: Instagram launches the Edits app for video editing, giving users a variety of features for free without the need for a subscription.
