Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has reported on new Apple products once again in his Power On newsletter this week. He emphasizes wearable devices and the new HomePod model.
Gurman mentions that Apple’s product team is constantly coming up with new ideas for wearable devices, with the current main products being the Apple Watch and AirPods, and the latest addition being the Vision Pro. However, Apple is still looking for additional new products, mostly in the development phase.
The first product is a Smart Ring, which has recently been in the news. The concept is to provide an alternative product for those who want health tracking devices but find it inconvenient to use an Apple Watch for various reasons. The Smart Ring is a new wearable device that does not overlap with other accessories. The design and development team are currently in the early stages.
The next product is Smart Glasses, which are aimed to replace AirPods and offer a wide range of functionalities, making them different from other smart glasses, including the Vision Pro headset. The project is still in the feasibility study phase.
Finally, there is news about the HomePod. Previous reports suggested a touch screen model would be released this year, but Gurman now indicates that the product may be launched as early as next year (2025). There will not be a new HomePod released this year for sure.
