Insomniac Founder Reveals Prior Pitch for Resistance 4 Denied by Sony

Ted Price, the CEO and founder of Insomniac Games, recently announced his retirement. Following this, he made an appearance on the Kinda Funny gaming show.

One burning question Price faced was why Insomniac did not continue the Resistance: Fall of Man series that was popular on the PS3 from 2006 to 2011, despite the clamor from fans.

In a surprising revelation, Price disclosed that Insomniac had actually pitched a concept for Resistance 4 which he believed to be exceptional. The team had put in extensive effort to deepen the storyline from the previous installment, but Sony ultimately did not approve the project due to timing and market opportunities. Consequently, Insomniac decided to halt further development of the Resistance series.

Price expressed his enduring love for the Resistance series but emphasized the importance of exploring new ventures after working on a series for an extended period. He mentioned that Sony currently owns the rights to Resistance, but Insomniac being acquired by Sony could potentially lead to the studio revisiting the series in the future.
