Integration of ChatGPT Feature into Volkswagen’s Voice-Activated Command System

Volkswagen has started integrating the ChatGPT feature into their cars, following the announcement at CES 2024 earlier this year. The new Volkswagen models already come with IDA voice assistant, which can be activated through voice commands like “Hello IDA” or “Hello Volkswagen”. The addition of ChatGPT will enhance natural conversations and improve human language understanding.

The ChatGPT feature is part of the paid Plus Speech subscription package, with each car model receiving a different duration of free service. For example, GTI, Golf R, and Tiguan will have it free for 1 year, while ID.4 and ID.Buzz will enjoy it for 3 years. Once the free period expires, customers will need to purchase the package.
