Intel Unveils Cutting-Edge High-NA EUV Machine, Leading the Charge in Next-Gen Photolithography-Technology with 6 Additional Units in the Pipeline

ASML, the leading chip manufacturing equipment supplier, has announced the delivery of their groundbreaking EUV High-NA chip production machines. The first model, Twinscan EXE:5000, will be delivered to Intel this year, and in 2024, an additional 6 Twinscan EXE:5200 machines will be provided to the company. ASML is now the largest provider of EUV High-NA machines in the industry.

The actual production of chips using these machines will require a significant amount of time for installation and fine-tuning before production can commence. Initially, Intel had planned to utilize these new machines in their 18A production line. However, due to delays in the delivery of the High-NA machines, they opted to continue using the older EUV machines.

These chip manufacturing machines come with a hefty price tag in the tens of billions of dollars, and there has been a long waiting list for delivery. The Twinscan EXE:5000, which is currently being delivered, was ordered by Intel back in 2018.
