Intel has unveiled the Xeon 6 series P-Core processors, codenamed Granite Rapids, following the introduction of the first 6900 series CPUs in September 2024.
The Xeon 6 processors in this release belong to the 6700, 6500, and 6300 series, with reduced specifications and prices across the board. Each chip is labeled with a P suffix to indicate it is a P-Core model, with the flagship model being the Xeon 6787P boasting 86 cores (full list of models available).
Intel also offers the Xeon 6 series E-Core processors, known as Sierra Forest, separate from the P-Core models, focusing on high-density server applications. Additionally, there are Xeon 6 chips without E/P suffixes, serving as System on Chips (SoCs) designed for edge devices like vRAN networking equipment or video transcoding devices.
