Airbnb has unveiled a new category of accommodations called Icons, curating extraordinary global destinations that are part of music, film, art, sports cultures and more, allowing users to choose unique stays.
In its initial launch, Icons features a total of 11 accommodations, such as:
– Up house: Stay in the Pixar’s Up themed house with over 8,000 balloons.
– Ferrari Museum: Spend a night at the Ferrari Museum in Italy with a chance to meet race car drivers.
– X-Mansion: A Marvel universe location in New York.
– Doja Cat’s playroom: Exclusive access to Doja Cat’s playroom post-concert, including listening to songs from her latest album.
Icons offers specialized stays that can be explored on Airbnb, mostly free or priced under $100 per person. It’s evident that staying at these locations requires luck through a selection process, where users must submit requests, and all activities are set to take place this year.
Jay Carney, Airbnb’s executive, stated that these activities are part of marketing efforts to familiarize users with Airbnb in a broader travel experience context beyond just accommodation.
