Google introduced Google Workspace Flows as a new service in the Google Workspace suite, which operates under the name to create automated workflows using the power of AI. The functionality of Flows is reminiscent of apps like IFTTT or Zapier, which set conditions for apps to work as specified, but solely within the Google Workspace universe.
The highlight of Flows is its use of Gemini to check conditions, allowing for more complex condition setting. An example showcased by Google is to read customer feedback in Google Forms and evaluate the urgency level (evaluated by Gemini or Gems, the organization’s custom chatbot), then send notifications via Google Chat to relevant employees.
Currently, Flows is in the testing phase for Google Workspace users in an Alpha capacity.
TLDR: Google Workspace Flows is a new service that leverages AI to create automated workflows within the Google Workspace environment, offering more advanced condition setting capabilities.
