AYANEO has unveiled the details of their portable gaming device, the Pocket S model, which utilizes the flagship-level Arm CPU, Snapdragon G3x Gen 2.
AYANEO offers a variety of portable gaming devices, some equipped with x86 CPUs (AMD & Intel) and Arm CPUs (Qualcomm & MediaTek). The Pocket S model stands out as the first portable gaming device in the market to feature the powerful Snapdragon chipset specifically designed for gaming. The 15W chipset includes a large heatsink for efficient heat dissipation.
The CPU configuration consists of 1+4+3 cores, with the primary core being the Kryo Prime Ultra Core clocked at 3.36GHz and the Adreno A32 GPU clocked at 1GHz. The CPU boasts a 30% increase in performance, while the GPU sees a 2x improvement compared to the G3x Gen 1.
Other specifications include a 6″ display with options for 1080p or 1440p resolution, 400 nits brightness, 100% sRGB color accuracy, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM with a bandwidth of 8533 Mbps, 1TB UFS 4.0 storage with a microSD slot, a 6000mAh battery with fast charging support. The total weight of the device is 350 grams, lighter than the 398 grams of the Nintendo Switch as advertised by AYANEO.
The 1080p model starts at $559, while the 1440p model starts at $589. There is also an IndieGogo crowdfunding campaign where backers can purchase the device at a discounted price compared to the retail price.
