Japan is implementing stricter controls on the export of advanced processor chips, quantum computer cooling systems, and lithography machines to prevent military use. This new policy will come into effect in May, requiring companies to obtain a license before selling these products overseas. Additionally, Japan has added 42 more Chinese companies to the blacklist, bringing the total restricted entities to around 110, similar to the U.S. measures that restrict the export of NVIDIA GPUs to China.
China has strongly opposed these measures, warning that it could disrupt international supply chains and hinder business activities. While the Japanese government has clarified that the restrictions are not targeted at any specific country but are aimed at preventing the use of technology for military purposes.
