June 2024 TIOBE Report: C++ Surpasses C in Popularity for the First Time

According to the TIOBE Programming Language Popularity Index for June 2024, there has been a significant change in the rankings. C++ has surpassed C in popularity for the first time since TIOBE began ranking languages, moving up to the 2nd position with a score of 10.03%, while C has dropped to 3rd place with 9.23%. Python still holds the top position with 15.39%.

One interesting point highlighted by TIOBE is that both C and C++ have never dropped to the 3rd position before. Another noteworthy change in the rankings for June includes Go entering the list at 7th place for the first time, and Rust achieving its highest ranking at 17th place.
