Samsung has removed the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 from the list of products that have received security patch updates, after being released in September 2020 and receiving support for a solid 4 years.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 were sold during a time when Samsung guaranteed a 3-year support period, but shortly after the start of 2021, Samsung extended the support to 4 years, retroactively applying it to both of these devices. Now, after a full 4 years, the support period as per the agreement has expired.
Samsung’s current support conditions (announced early 2024) include upgrading the Android operating system to version 7 and providing security patches for 7 years. This means that the latest model, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 of the year 2024, will receive updates until 2031.
