The new Mac mini with the M4 chip just unveiled comes in a much smaller size compared to its predecessor. As a result of this downsizing, the power button had to find a new home, and the solution is underneath the machine. In the previous model of the Mac mini, which had enough space around the device, the power button was located at the back of the machine, next to various connectivity ports. However, even though the button is now placed under the machine, turning on and off the Mac mini M4 doesn’t require lifting the device like some slim accessories, thanks to the design that doesn’t fully touch the surface, allowing users to easily reach in and press the button (watch the clip around 28 seconds).

TLDR: The new Mac mini M4 features a much smaller design, relocating the power button to underneath the machine for easy access without the need to lift it.
