Meta has announced the success of its Instagram platform, boasting over 1 million subscribers who pay to support creators. Starting from the beginning of 2022, Instagram introduced the Subscription feature to allow creators to directly monetize their content, such as exclusive access to live streams, stories, and reels available only to subscribers. Initially limited to the United States, this feature has gradually expanded to include various countries, including Thailand.
One example of a successful subscription-based content creator is Kimberley Haberly (@iambohoblonde), known for her lifestyle and fashion content. With 3,000 paying subscribers, she generates a monthly income of $31,000 in Australian dollars (approximately 710,000 Thai baht).
In addition, Meta has also announced a new feature called Instagram Gifts, allowing fans to purchase stars or digital gifts to show appreciation and admiration for a creator’s reels. This feature is now available in several countries, including Thailand.
TLDR: Meta celebrates the achievement of having over 1 million subscribers on the Instagram platform who pay to support content creators. The Subscription feature allows creators to monetize their exclusive content, while the Instagram Gifts feature enables fans to purchase digital gifts to express their appreciation.
