Meta has shuttered the game development studio Ready at Dawn, known for their work on the Lone Echo 1-2 games.
Established in 2003, Ready at Dawn initially focused on creating games for the PSP before transitioning to becoming a studio specializing in VR games. Meta acquired the studio in 2020 to become part of Oculus Studios (as it was known back then), concentrating on VR game development to boost sales of the Oculus/Meta Quest headset.
Rumors surfaced last month that Meta has cut the budget of its Reality Labs division, responsible for all VR operations, which could possibly be a contributing factor to the closure of Ready at Dawn this time around.
