Microsoft has announced support for Passkey authentication for all Microsoft user accounts in the Consumer group, in celebration of World Password Day today.
Microsoft has been advocating for passwordless login methods for quite some time now, starting with Windows Hello in Windows 10 back in 2015, leading to the announcement of collaborations with Google and Apple in 2022, and now supporting Passkey on Windows 11 as of last year.
Users who enable Passkey can now securely log in to their Microsoft accounts using facial recognition, fingerprint, or device PIN from Windows, Google, or Apple. To activate Passkey, users can follow the link provided.
