Microsoft Unleashes New Round of Layoffs, Impacts Azure Engineering Team and HoloLens Development Squad

According to reports from Business Insider, Microsoft has recently laid off approximately 1,500 employees in the Azure engineering department. However, this news has not been confirmed by Microsoft.

Additionally, CNBC has reported that Microsoft has confirmed layoffs in another division, Mixed Reality, which includes the team developing the three-dimensional headset HoloLens 2. Microsoft has stated that the product will continue to be sold as usual.

Microsoft had previously laid off employees in the HoloLens department in 2023, totaling around 1,000 employees, according to reports.
