Ministry of Justice Forecasts Legal Challenge Against Apple for Business Restriction Within the Week

Bloomberg news agency reports that the US Department of Justice is preparing to officially sue Apple within the next 1-2 days, as previously reported on business antitrust issues. Details are currently scarce, but it is expected to be similar to the case that occurred with the European Union, where Apple restricted access due to its closed system, both in hardware and software. A key issue recently addressed in the EU was the App Store, where Apple just adjusted operations in iOS 17.4, allowing users in the EU to install apps from outside the store. Apple was also recently fined by the EU for 1.8 billion euros for anticompetitive practices in the music streaming app services.

TLDR: The US Department of Justice is set to sue Apple officially for antitrust issues, similar to the EU case, where Apple restricted access in its closed system and was fined for anticompetitive practices.
