Today, on February 28th, the game Monster Hunter Wilds was released for the first time. It is considered the main installment of the Monster Hunter series in the past 7 years since the release of World in 2018.
The sales have already begun and are breaking records with over 1 million players concurrently on the Steam platform alone (current statistics indicate 1.19 million players and is expected to increase). In comparison, the World edition sold 5 million units in the first week and a total of 21.30 million units (excluding the Iceborne expansion), with the highest player count on Steam platform being 334,684. It remains to be seen how the sales of Wilds will compare.
