Negotiations underway between Mira Murati, former CTIO at OpenAI, and investors to launch cutting-edge AI startup.

Reuters reported that sources close to the matter revealed that Mira Murati, former CEO of OpenAI, is currently in negotiations with investors to secure funding for a new artificial intelligence startup venture focused on developing products based on self-trained AI models.

Initial figures suggest that Murati is seeking around $100 million from investors, primarily to be used for model training resources. Additionally, Barret Zoph, a former researcher who left OpenAI on the same day as Murati, will also be joining as a co-founder of this new company.

Both Murati and Zoph have yet to comment on this news report. Mira Murati is a key executive at OpenAI, involved in the development of products such as ChatGPT and DALL-E, as well as playing a role in securing Microsoft’s billion-dollar investment in the company. She joined OpenAI in 2018 and was promoted to CEO in 2022. Prior to her time at OpenAI, Murati worked at Leap Motion and Tesla.
