Next-Gen Console Unveiled: PS5 Pro Boosts GPU Power by 45%, Goes Disc-Free, Price Hiked to $699.

Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation 5 Pro, with details matching almost all the rumors. The launch price is set at a staggering $699.99 (the only surprise being the price). It will hit the shelves on November 7, 2024.

The appearance of the PS5 Pro matches the leaked images, resembling the PS5 Slim model but with 4 additional side stripes, making the console slightly larger than the Slim version.

Hardware specs have been further upgraded as follows:

– CPU upgrade with a 67% increase in compute units.
– 28% faster RAM speed.
– 45% improvement in game rendering performance.
– Advanced ray tracing support, with a 2-3 times increase in ray tracing display performance compared to the standard PS5.
– Introduction of Spectral Super Resolution feature utilizing AI for image upscaling.
– Increased storage capacity to 2TB.
– Wi-Fi 7 support.
– VRR support and gaming at 8K resolution.
– No built-in disc drive; an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive must be purchased separately for disc-based gaming.

The PS5 Pro offers a PS5 Pro Game Boost mode to enhance the performance of both PS4 and existing PS5 games when played on the PS5 Pro (subject to game compatibility). Sony has also partnered with game studios, both internal and external, to optimize popular games for a better experience on the PS5 Pro. These games will carry a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” badge.

TLDR: Sony launches the PlayStation 5 Pro with upgraded hardware specs and advanced features, aiming to enhance the gaming experience for users.
