Nexus Mods Ceases All Palworld-Related Pokemon Mods in Fear of Uncertainty

Nexus Mods, the platform specializing in game mods for PC, has recently expressed concerns regarding the inclusion of Pokemon elements in the game Palworld. They have announced through their website that they feel uneasy about allowing the dissemination of mods that incorporate copyrighted Pokemon components into Palworld, despite the intriguing concept of merging Pokemon into the world of Palworld.

Nexus Mods points out that Nintendo has a history of filing DMCA claims and removing user-generated content. Given the similarities between Palworld and Pokemon, sharing content that introduces additional characters or assets protected by Pokemon’s copyrights would undoubtedly expose them to legal action. Therefore, Nexus Mods believes it is not worthwhile to risk permitting the sharing of such content on their website.

Although they will remove mods of this nature, Nexus Mods will continue to support Palworld modifications in every way possible. They have even introduced the Palworld Vortex Extension, a mod manager created by Nexus Mods, to facilitate convenient modding for the game.

In a previous statement, The Pokémon Company stated that they would investigate whether Palworld infringes upon their intellectual property by utilizing elements from Pokémon. This action was taken in response to modders inserting Pokémon models into Palworld.

TLDR: Nexus Mods is concerned about the inclusion of copyrighted Pokemon elements in the game Palworld. They have decided not to allow the sharing of mods that incorporate Pokemon assets on their website to avoid the risk of legal action. However, they will continue to support Palworld modifications through the Palworld Vortex Extension, their mod manager. The Pokémon Company is currently investigating potential intellectual property infringement by Palworld.
