Pekka Lundmark, CEO of Nokia, showcases the latest in voice and video calling technology through the 3GPP Immersive Voice and Audio Services on the 5G mobile network. This technology enables 3D Spatial sound for a more immersive experience with enhanced real-world positioning.
Testing this technology involved a call between Stefan Lindström, Finland’s digital technology ambassador, and Lundmark and Jenni Lukander, Nokia’s executives, in a room where Nokia first tested phone calls on the 2G GSM network back in 1991.
Lukander emphasized that this voice communication technology will soon become a standard, allowing network providers, chipset manufacturers, and phone makers to start utilizing it.
