NVIDIA Unveils Record-Breaking Quarterly Performance, Achieving Highest Statistics Yet with a Whopping 262% Revenue Growth

NVIDIA has reported its first-quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2025, ending in April. Total revenue reached a record high of $26.044 billion, an 18% increase from the previous quarter and a 262% increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The company also recorded a net profit of $14.881 billion according to GAAP accounting standards.

Over 80% of NVIDIA’s revenue in this quarter came from the Data Center business group, with revenue of $22.563 billion, while Gaming revenue reached $2.647 billion.

CEO and co-founder of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang, stated that a new era of industrial revolution has begun. The company, along with several countries, has collaborated with NVIDIA to transform multi-billion-dollar data centers from traditional formats to new AI Factories, to support artificial intelligence production, improve cost efficiency, and create new revenue opportunities.

CFO Colette Kress highlighted that the 427% growth in the Data Center group’s revenue was largely driven by the delivery of the Hopper GPU family, including the H100 GPU. Additionally, essential highlights of the quarter included the introduction of Meta’s Llama 3, utilizing the H100 GPUs in up to 24,000 units. Approximately 40% of Data Center revenue comes from major cloud service providers.

NVIDIA also provided information that they repurchased $7.74 billion worth of company shares in the past quarter and announced plans for an upcoming stock split at a 10-to-1 ratio scheduled for after June 7th, along with an increased dividend payout from $0.04 to $0.10 per share post-split, or $0.01 per share pre-split.

Following the financial report, NVIDIA’s stock price surged more than 6%, surpassing the $1,000 mark for the first time.

TLDR: NVIDIA reports outstanding financial results for Q1 FY2025, with record revenue and profits, driven by strong performance in the Data Center business group and plans for a stock split and increased dividends.
