Official Announcement: The Elder Scrolls IV – Oblivion Remastered Revealed with Enhanced Graphics and Gameplay Overhaul.

Following a recent leak of a massive image set last week, Bethesda officially unveiled The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered last night, with the game available for sale immediately.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a reimagining of the 2006 game Oblivion, utilizing the Unreal Engine 5 engine, developed by Virtuos Games, a studio specializing in game development, in collaboration with powerhouse studios like Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of the original game.

In this remastered version, all graphics have been overhauled, with all game assets renewed. Real-time lighting systems have been implemented, along with improved lip sync technology to match the original voiceover perfectly. The gameplay has been updated to be more contemporary, with a reworked leveling system inspired by elements from Skyrim. Characters can now run, and combat animations have been completely revamped. A crosshair has been added for third-person perspective, bringing the game up to date like Starfield.

The game is now available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, with it also being playable on Game Pass. While fans are eagerly awaiting The Elder Scrolls VI, with an uncertain release date, they can enjoy the updated version of The Elder Scrolls set in a new era (even if it is an old game) in the meantime.

TLDR: Bethesda has officially released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, bringing back the classic game with updated graphics and gameplay elements for a new generation of players.
