OpenAI Enters AI Infrastructure Agreement with CoreWeave Worth $1.19 Billion, Becomes Majority Shareholder

CoreWeave, a cloud company specializing in NVIDIA GPUs, has announced a partnership with OpenAI to provide AI Infrastructure services. The contract is valued at $11.9 billion to support OpenAI’s processing resource needs.

In addition to using GPUs, OpenAI has also become a shareholder in CoreWeave, receiving new CoreWeave shares worth a total of $350 million. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, stated that developing advanced AI systems requires increasing processing resources. The agreement with CoreWeave enables support for new, more powerful AI models and meets the needs of millions of users worldwide.

This partnership allows OpenAI to expand its processing infrastructure beyond collaborations with Microsoft, Oracle, and the Stargate project jointly invested in by SoftBank.
