OpenAI’s Chairman Greg Brockman Resumes Normal Work Routine Following Unspecified Hiatus

Greg Brockman, one of the co-founders of OpenAI and the company’s chairman, has announced the end of his extended leave of absence. It is now time for him to return and rebuild OpenAI once again.

Previously reported, Brockman took an indefinite leave of absence, initially planned until the end of the year. Brockman himself stated that this leave of absence is the longest in his lifetime.

During Brockman’s absence, numerous events unfolded at OpenAI including a new round of funding of $6.6 billion, a restructuring of the company towards a For-Profit model, and the resignation of several high-level executives, including Mira Murati, the CTO.

Greg Brockman, a close associate of CEO Sam Altman, made the decision to resign in alignment with Altman after the board of OpenAI voted to remove Altman from the company last year.
