Chrome for Android has introduced a new feature called Minimized Custom Tabs, allowing users to shrink the tab they are currently reading. This feature is similar to Picture-in-Picture mode for videos.
Designed for Custom Tabs or opening links from other apps using the Chrome engine, Minimized Custom Tabs allow users to open a link from an app like email without taking up the entire screen. This helps with multitasking as users can easily switch back and forth between reading content and checking emails without having to close the web page.
Google has implemented this feature starting from Chrome version 124 and hopes that other browsers on Android will follow suit with similar features.
