Overwatch 2 introduces Classic Mode, bringing back maps and characters from version 1.0 for another round of play.

Overwatch 2 introduces the Classic mode for a nostalgic trip back to the origins. Players can once again engage in gameplay with maps and heroes from the initial 1.0 version released 8 years ago.

Overwatch: Classic offers a 6v6 gameplay format, featuring the original 12 maps and the initial roster of 21 heroes with their original skills and abilities. This mode brings back the essence of the game in its pure form, similar to how World of Warcraft brings back old expansions for continual play. This limited-time festival will only be available to play from November 12 to December 2, 2024.

Blizzard has clarified that the Classic mode is separate from the ongoing 6v6 gameplay concept, undergoing separate development and testing to become a permanent gameplay feature. However, the Classic mode serves as a nostalgic throwback for old fans to relive the past.

TLDR: Overwatch 2 introduces the Classic mode, allowing players to revisit the original maps and heroes from the 1.0 version for a limited time, offering a nostalgic experience for longtime fans.
