The trend of streaming services increasing membership prices is ongoing, with most adjustments occurring in the American market. Recently, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, which is currently not available in Thailand as it is exclusive to the US, announced another round of price increases. The Premium package, which includes ads, will see a $2 increase to $7.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium Plus will also increase by $2 to $13.99 per month. This follows an earlier price hike by Peacock last year, marking a consecutive two-year increase.
NBCUniversal stated that these new prices will take effect starting from July 18th. Despite having approximately 34 million subscribers, Peacock still lags behind major streaming competitors, but has steadily grown over time.
Peacock’s noteworthy content includes the acclaimed film “Oppenheimer,” which won an Oscar last year. It also serves as a primary platform for live and on-demand coverage of the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris this year.
TLDR: Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, is raising subscription prices for both its Premium and Premium Plus packages, citing the need to remain competitive in the streaming market.
