Phoenix: A Novel App by Tapbots, Creators of Tweetbot, Tailored for Bluesky Operations.

Tapbots, the company behind the popular Tweetbot Twitter client on iOS, which has since been discontinued, has unveiled a new app called Phoenix, a client for using Bluesky. It is expected to launch in the upcoming summer or mid-year.

Prior to this, Tapbots released an app called Ivory, a client for Mastodon, after discontinuing Tweetbot. The announcement of developing the Phoenix app for Bluesky reflects the popularity of this social platform, necessitating companies to have a presence in the market. Tapbots stated that they found the user base for these two platforms to be significant enough that the company could not rely solely on one side.

Tapbots mentioned that due to the small size of the team (2 programmers, 1 designer), it was unfortunate news for Ivory users that the development of new features would be slowed down as they have to split their efforts with Phoenix.
