Google has introduced the Zoom Enhance feature that adjusts the sharpness of close-up photos on the Google Pixel 8 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Series which have recently been released.
Different from Super Res Zoom (which is digital zoom), Zoom Enhance sharpens images after they have been taken using a diffusion model in an image-to-image manner, working on the device. This is why it cannot be used on the Google Pixel 8 with 8GB RAM.
To utilize this feature, after taking a photo, simply click on Edit > Tools > Zoom Enhance. This feature can even enhance images taken on devices other than the Google Pixel, or even AI-generated images.
