Polestar, a subsidiary of Volvo specializing in electric cars, has unveiled its own smartphone brand in China.
The decision to venture into the smartphone market may seem unconventional for an EV car company, but Polestar’s smartphone is actually developed by Meizu, a company under the Geely conglomerate, which also owns Volvo, Polestar, and Meizu. This unique smartphone is exclusively targeted for the Chinese market.
The Polestar Phone boasts a 6.79-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 1250 nits brightness, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, a triple rear camera setup of 50MP+13MP+10MP, a 32MP front camera, a 5050 mAh battery with 50W fast charging, and runs on the Flyme OS by Meizu with the signature Polestar UI, mirroring the UI found in Polestar cars.
Designed by Polestar Global Design in Sweden, the smartphone exudes a Scandinavian-inspired minimalist and luxurious aesthetic. A standout feature is the Polestar Link, allowing seamless integration with Polestar cars when inside the vehicle.
The starting price for the Polestar Phone is 7,388 yuan, approximately 38,000 baht.
