Possible Revised Title: Unconfirmed: French Authorities to Report NVIDIA for Anti-Competitive Practices

The news agency Reuters reported that the French competition watchdog may accuse NVIDIA of anti-competitive behavior, marking the first such case against the company. This event is believed to be linked to an incident last September where the French watchdog reportedly inspected a GPU manufacturer, likely NVIDIA, for using tactics against GPU market competition, linking it to a major cloud service provider.

Last week, the French watchdog also published a report stating that various Generative AI developments by different providers rely heavily on NVIDIA’s CUDA platform, mentioning NVIDIA’s investments in AI companies like CoreWeave, forcing developers to rely even more on NVIDIA’s platform.

NVIDIA has declined to comment on the report, while the French authority stated that their comments align with previously published reports.

TLDR: Reuters reported that the French watchdog may accuse NVIDIA of anti-competitive practices, possibly related to NVIDIA’s influence in the AI market and GPU industry.
