Microsoft has announced the delay of the Windows 11 Copilot+ PC Family’s first edition Recall feature, originally set to launch on June 18, 2024, due to security and privacy concerns. The Recall feature will still be available to Windows Insider group users on Copilot+ PC initially, with a later expansion to all Copilot+ PC users for preview testing.

Additional security measures for Recall have been introduced by Microsoft, such as default shutdown, and an extra layer of encryption through Windows Hello authentication system.
