YouTube has introduced a testing feature for Premium customers called Sleep Timer. As the name suggests, this feature stops the video when the set time is up. It’s ideal for those who listen to podcasts or music before bedtime. YouTube will stop playing the video for you.
To activate this feature, you must go to this page for desktop or go to Settings in the mobile app and select “Try experimental new features.” Since this is a YouTube experimental feature, it will only be tested until September 2nd, with no guarantee of extension or availability to all users.
The scheduled shutdown feature is not new, as Spotify has had this feature since 2019.
TLDR: YouTube is testing a Sleep Timer feature for Premium users which stops videos after a set time, similar to Spotify’s feature introduced in 2019.
