Preparation Underway to Extract GPT-4 Model from ChatGPT for Implementation of GPT-4o

OpenAI has announced the discontinuation plan for GPT-4 model from the ChatGPT service, effective starting April 30, 2025. Instead, it will be replaced with the GPT-4o model. GPT-4 is a model that was released back in April 2023.

According to OpenAI, GPT-4o is a newer model that supports mixed data inputs and has superior testing capabilities compared to GPT-4, whether it be in writing, coding, solving STEM problems, and more.

GPT-4 will still be accessible to researchers and developers through an API, which is the same channel used to access older models like GPT-3.5.
