Promoting Liz Reid to Team Lead of Search for Comprehensive Oversight: A Google Initiative.

Google has restructured its management team in the Search department by appointing Liz Reid as the new Head of Search, reporting directly to Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan. Liz Reid, who has been with Google since 2003, initially oversaw Google Maps, Local Search, and the integration of AI into mapping services. Her recent accomplishments in the Search division include Multisearch, Voice Search, and the innovative Search Generative Experience incorporating AI.

Under Reid’s leadership, there have been changes in the team structure. Cheenu Venkatachary will now be responsible for the quality and ranking of search results, while Pandu Nayak will transition to the role of Scientist of Search. Additionally, Cathy Edwards will oversee Knowledge and Information within the department.

TLDR: Google appoints Liz Reid as Head of Search, leading innovations in AI integration and search experiences, with a restructured team focusing on quality and knowledge management.
