PS5 Slim Warranty Registration Hindered by Sony’s Lack of Product Data Entry into System

The latest model of PlayStation 5 (commonly known as the PS5 Slim) officially launched in Thailand on February 20th. Users have reported difficulties registering their My Sony account for warranty claims from Sony, even though Sony recommends registering the product within 15 days of purchase.

The Blognone team has tried various methods to register for warranty with Sony online, but have been unsuccessful. Despite inputting the correct model name of the new PS5 model as CFI-2018B01, the system does not recognize the serial number.

Upon inquiry to Sony Store Thailand, it was explained that the new PS5 model is still a new product being updated in the system. Users are advised to wait for approximately 2 weeks before attempting to register, contradicting Sony’s policy of registering within 15 days of purchase (users who bought the device on February 21st are nearing the 15-day mark).

This issue occurred previously with the initial release of the PS5 models, where users had to wait almost a month before proper registration was possible. This trend seems to continue with the new product releases from Sony Thailand.

TLDR: The new PS5 Slim model in Thailand is experiencing registration issues for warranty claims with Sony, advising users to wait for system updates before attempting registration.
