Qatar Airways Launches Satellite-Based Starlink Internet Services on Aircraft, Full Installation by 2025

Qatar Airways is at the forefront of in-flight innovation, offering free Wi-Fi services through Starlink’s satellite internet technology. This marks the first time Starlink has installed equipment on a Boeing 777 aircraft and tested it at an altitude of 35,000 feet.

During the initial phase, Qatar Airways will equip 12 of its Boeing 777-300 aircraft with Starlink devices by 2024. By 2025, the remaining Boeing 777 fleet will also be outfitted, while the Airbus A350 aircraft will be fully equipped by the summer of 2025.

On the maiden flight of Qatar Airways featuring Starlink internet service, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, conducted a video call with Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, the provider of Starlink.
