Quarterly Performance Report: Airbnb’s Singular Digit Growth and Promising Regional Travel Trends

Airbnb reported its first quarter earnings for the year 2025 with a total revenue of $2.272 billion, a 6% increase from the same period last year. The net profit according to GAAP accounting standards was $154 million.

The key performance indicators for Airbnb’s business are as follows: Gross Booking Value (GMV) of accommodations and activities on the platform was $24.5 billion, a 7% increase, and the number of nights stayed and activities participated in was 143.1 million, an 8% increase.

Airbnb noted that the trend of accommodations in North America is on the rise, despite overall economic uncertainty, with a significant portion being domestic travel. In Japan, where Airbnb has been increasing marketing efforts, there was a 20% increase in accommodations booked by Japanese guests.

Additionally, Airbnb announced a major app update, the Summer Release, set for May 13th.
