Amazon’s net profit nearly doubled from the previous year, attributed to both continuous cost reduction efforts and the growth in AWS revenue. Investors were particularly interested in two of Amazon’s businesses, with the following figures:
AWS revenue reached $28.786 billion, up by 19%, with a segment operating profit of $10.632 billion.
The advertising business generated $17.288 billion in revenue, a 17% increase.
